www.retap.com collects user information from the following sources:

  • Customer service. To be able to perform customer service via “My Account” account or email. To handle questions relating to your order or previous orders, adjust errors and to guide the customer.
  • Marketing. To display inspiration and product offers/services and recommendations via web, email, text message, phone and via 3rd party advertising.

Retap creates individual customer profiles based on your collected data across all data sources/categories, e.g. browsing behaviour together with your purchases and information you have supplied. We combine and analyse these data with the purpose of improving your experience at www.retap.com.

The information that MailChimp collects about you falls into the following categories: 

(i) Retap may provide Personal Information about you to MailChimp through the Service. MailChimp may receive certain contact information or other Personal Information about you such as your name, email address or company name. You may have the opportunity to update some of this information by electing to update or manage your preferences via an email you receive from Retap.

(ii) When you interact with an email campaign that you receive from Retap or browse or purchase from Retap’s webshop, MailChimp may collect information about your device and interaction with an email. MailChimp uses cookies and other tracking technologies to collect some of this information. 

Device information: MailChimp collects information about the device and applications you use to access emails sent through their Service, such as your IP address, your operating system, your browser ID, and other information about your system and connection.

  • Usage data: It is important for MailChimp to ensure the security and reliability of the Service they provide. Thus, they also collect usage data about your interactions with campaigns/emails sent through the Service, which may include dates and times you access campaigns/emails and your browsing activities. This information also allows MailChimp to ensure compliance with their Standard Terms of Use and Acceptable Use Policy, to monitor and prevent service abuse, and to ensure they get certain usage standards and metrics in relation to the Service. MailChimp also collects information regarding the performance of the Service, including metrics related to the deliverability of emails and other electronic communications that Retap send through the Service. This information allows MailChimp to improve the content and operation of the Service and facilitate research and perform analysis into the use and performance of the Service.

(iii) From time to time, MailChimp may obtain information about you from third-party sources, such as social media platforms, and third-party data providers. MailChimp uses the information to provide publicly available social media information about you to Retap.

Use of Personal Information 

MailChimp may use the Personal Information they collect or receive about you depending on their (and where applicable, Retap’s) legitimate interests for the following purposes:

  • To enforce compliance with MailChimp’s Standard Terms of Use and applicable law. This may include utilizing usage data and developing tools and algorithms that help them prevent violations.
  • To protect the rights and safety of Retap, third parties, or Mailchimp. For example, sometimes MailChimp reviews the content of Retap’s email campaigns to make sure they comply with MailChimp’s Standard Terms of Use. To improve that process, MailChimp has software that helps finding email campaigns that may violate their Standard Terms of Use. MailChimp, or their third-party service provider, may review those particular email campaigns, which may include your contact information. This reduces the amount of spam being sent through the servers and help them maintain high deliverability.
  • To meet legal requirements, including complying with court orders, valid discovery requests, valid subpoenas, and other appropriate legal mechanisms.
  • To provide information to representatives and advisors, including attorneys and accountants, to help MailChimp comply with legal, accounting, or security requirements.
  • To prosecute and defend a court, arbitration, or similar legal proceeding.
  • To respond to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.
  • To provide, support and improve the Service. For example, this may include sharing your information with third parties in order to provide and support the Service or to make certain features of the Service available to Retap. When MailChimp share Personal Information with third parties, they take steps to protect your information in a manner that is consistent with applicable privacy laws.
  • To perform data analytics projects. MailChimp’s data analytics projects use data from Mailchimp accounts, including your Personal Information, to provide and improve the Service. They use information, like your purchase history, provided to them by Retap, so they can make more informed predictions, decisions, and products for Retap. For example, they use data from the MailChimp accounts to enable product recommendation, audience segmentation, and predicted demographics features for Retap. If you prefer your data not to be used in this manner, you can opt out of data analytics projects at any time by emailing MailChimp at personaldatarequests@mailchimp.com
  • To carry out other business purposes. To carry out other legitimate business purposes, as well as other lawful purposes about which they will notify you.

Use of cookies

MailChimp and their third-party partners may use various technologies to automatically collect and store certain device and usage information when you interact with Retap’s email campaigns or connected webshop. This can include using cookies and similar tracking technologies, such as pixels and web beacons. For example, MailChimp uses web beacons in the emails they send on behalf of Retap. When you receive and engage with Retap’s campaign, web beacons track certain behavior such as whether the email sent through the Mailchimp platform was delivered and opened and whether links within the email were clicked. Both web beacons and SDKs allows MailChimp to collect information such as your IP address, browser, email client type, and other similar data as further described above. They use this information to measure the performance of Retap’s email campaigns, and to provide analytics information and enhance the effectiveness of their Service.

How do I avoid cookies?

You can either block all cookies, delete existing cookies from your computer or receive a warning before saving cookies.

To delete cookies, click on the Tools button -> Tools -> Clear browsing data -> Delete cookies and other site data -> Clear browsing data.

To block cookies, click on the Tools button -> Settings -> Show Advanced Options -> Content Settings -> Click "Block all sites from storing data" and tick the "Block third-party cookies and site data" -> Ok

Safari
To delete cookies, click on the Tools button -> Settings -> Security -> Click on "Show Cookies". Here you can either delete cookies from a single domain or remove all cookies.

To block cookies, click on the toolbar button -> Settings -> Security -> Under "Accept Cookies" select "never".

Contact regarding personal data

Please contact us at: webshop@retap.com if you want to access the information we hold about you. If incorrect data has been registered or you have other objections, you can contact the same place. You can look at what information is registered and you can object to registration under the Personal Data Act.

Being a customer, you are entitled to access your collected data categories (articles 15, 16 and 17) and you may object to the registration pursuant to the relevant rules in the EU legislation General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If your request is found appropriate, we will update, change or remove personal information that we control with reservation against violating any legislation.

Protection of personal data

The legislation requires that your personal information is kept secure and confidential. We store your personal information on high-level security servers located in controlled facilities, and our security is checked regularly to ensure that our user information is handled securely by always taking your rights as a user into account. However, we cannot guarantee 100% security for data transmissions via the internet. There may be a risk that unauthorised parties gain access to information when data is sent and stored electronically. Thus, your personal information is submitted at your own risk.

Personal information is deleted or made anonymous continuously when the purpose for which it was collected ends.

Due to the rapid development of the internet, changes in our processing of personal data may be necessary. We thus reserve the right to update and amend these guidelines for the processing of personal data. If we do so, we will simultaneously revise the "last update" at the bottom of the page. In case of substantial changes, we will notify you in the form of a visible notice on www.retap.com.

You may complain about our handling of your information and data. Complaints are submitted to the local Data Protection Agency.
